Maine was a state that makes me think about old history. The pureness and the feeling that you have captured blurps of time that pioneers saw when they came from England. Established in the mid - 1600s, Mainers are all about old country vibe mixed with a little bit of modernity. We started in Portland, which is just your typical modern hipster city (nothing to fancy about it) just like it's sister town (Portland, Ore). But then we travelled to Peaks Island, we did that out of spontaneity. Then headed up towards Bar Harbor and then up towards our final destination Baxter State Park! Note: the pictures are not in order of travelling.
Capturing the love of Fall! How we all inspire to change with the season and become one with nature. Baxter State Park (below)..

We stayed in a town called Millinocket. This town is, actually was, a timber town. Now it's just run down trying establish some sort of tourist network to keep the town alive and vibrant. There was a huge debate with the locals -- to either re-establish as a timber town or make into a tourist town because the State Park is literally 5 mins away from the town. The only entrance and exist to the park is thru Millinocket. The locals are fun to banter with especially during the football season --they let us watch the Seahawks game even though we were on New England (Patriots) territory!

Acadia National Park(below) -- miles and miles of leaves, trees and fresh air.

Acadia National Park: the fog was relaxed on the land while we strolled along the beach. Families and couples were taking in this amazing site; hearing the waves crashing and birds chirping in the distance!

Peak Island (above and below): the pictures speak for themselves! Plus, the island is full of OLD history, for instance there is a main cemetery of the original settlers that dates back to almost the late 1700s almost a 100 years after Maine was settled as a state.

Portland (below): The marine and the Harbor Walkway was where most of the tourist action was. You go beyond that, and you see just how the locals live -- down to earth and living in wide narrow apartments! We rented out an AirBnB and the apartment was uniquely laid out --- the bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom aligned like you were going down a narrow hallway. I loved it!

Yes, that is a piece of the Berlin Wall! Not much to say, the writing is on the wall...
